I sat on the rubble and began to write poetry upon it, cursing every war that took away my love and feelings
And how do I return my soul to life while the killer of hopes around me watches
I see nothing but my heart, lifeless without pulses
I see my heart torn like fabric
I see my heart living its days in anxiety
And it becomes lost in despair, crushed, just as it has become
But I continue through the days, facing the misery
My eyes have recorded every scene since I saw them
And my memory organizes everything and preserves the days, it does not forget
A criminal enemy assassinates Gaza in broad daylight
And no whispers is heard by the world
And he proudly ignites its night with shelling
And makes them drink from the blood of its children
And his drones emit a buzzing that devastates the head
And we were displaced to nothingness, losing the nourishment of the soul
As if the cheapest thing in our lives is to lose our souls
And we walked, exhausted by our wounds, towards the small cells, wearing helplessness
And at the checkpoint, the soldier asks me: "Do you follow a mute nation?"
And laughs after everyone has let us down
The pain of being let down is more severe than what’s inflicted by our enemies
So I told him while I was struggling with despair
The days will take our revenge, and history will not forget
